1. Who we are
Vetted Roofers Ltd (England & Wales) is the data controller for personal data collected via vettedroofers.co.uk. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
2. What we collect
- Roofers: company details, contact details, director info, Companies House & VAT numbers, insurance certificates, accreditations, ID documents, portfolio images, coverage areas and payment metadata.
- Homeowners: name, contact details, postcode, and details of the job you need quoted.
- Website visitors: device, browser, IP and usage data for analytics and abuse prevention.
3. Why we use it
- To verify roofer identity, insurance and accreditations (legitimate interest / contract).
- To match homeowners with vetted roofers (contract / legitimate interest).
- To process membership payments and credit purchases via Stripe (contract).
- To communicate about your account, renewals and lead activity (contract).
- To meet legal, tax and fraud-prevention obligations (legal obligation).
4. Sharing
We share personal data with: Stripe (payments), Supabase (secure hosting & database), our email provider, and — for approved members — myroofquote.co.uk to deliver claimed leads. Sensitive vetting documents (ID, insurance, accreditation certificates) are stored in a private, access-controlled bucket and are never made public.
5. Retention
We keep vetting records for as long as you are a member plus 6 years to meet legal and audit requirements. You may request earlier deletion where no legal basis to retain applies.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can access, correct, port, restrict or erase your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact privacy@vettedroofers.co.uk. You may also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
